A really Big Day Out

Once every year on the magical island of Bali, there is a very special Surfer Girl day called Big Day Out. It's a day out at the beach, full of fun, food, music, surfing, fashion, and it's all for girls! This year's Big Day Out held on the 22nd of September was a huge success, jam packed with heaps of events

It was great weather and everyone was out having Fun In The Sun. There was the Surfer Girl 'Girls Go Off' Surf & Bodyboard Competition, with girls from all over the globe taking part. It was an international affair and ofcourse our very own Surfer Girl team rider Desi represented BALI! The winner was Martina of Uraguay, followed by our very own Surfer Girl rider Becky of Australia!! There was also a round of Bodyboard Competition, with all the contestants from Japan.

Not forgetting one of Grinder's favourite events, Girls Learn To Skate, where girls could try their hand at skateboarding and even have a go in a mini skate competition after. Promising girl skater Chantel of Singapore was the winner on that one. All throughout the day, crazy beach games were taking place like Tug-O-War and Sumo Wrestling, and there were marching bands and cheerleading and dancing competitions too.

Delighting in the Night was the DJ battle, where various DJs scratched it up on the turntables. Next was an awesome line up of bands and the essential all-girl rocker chick band Bumble Bee. The host Arif and Farah really had the crowded pumped up for more action. And action was what they got! The Surfer Girl fashion show got on stage and worked some Surfer Girl magic into the crowd. The models danced and even had a little drama on-stage with the boys! As the end of a really Big Day drew to a close, gust star Soul ID ruled the crowd with their body moving Hip Hop, R&B and soul grooves. The sun might have gone down, but the fun was at an all time high. It was truly a Surfer Girl's Big Day Out.
