Surfer Girl Big Splash 2009 Event Review - DAY 2
"The most fun all girls surf competition in the world"

Day 2 - begins a little earlier than yesterday at around 9am, where contestants from around the world and spectators already gathered at the Surfer Girl zone. The music hypes up the excitement for this last day of Surfer Girl Big Splash, you just couldn't miss it at the Halfway Kuta beach.

There are 4 divisions to compete for, Open Women's Pro, Open Women's Body Board, Daddy (or Mommies) & Daughter tandem, and the final for the Fun Surf Contest.

Open Women's Pro opens the competition which attracts 23 contestants from around the world, including the best surfer from Indonesia, Stella, Dyah Rahayu, and Bone, and one of Japan best surfers, Ayako. This division is divided into 6 heats where 4 contestants for each heat give their best skill on ripping the waves for 20 minutes.

Yuka Takahashi from Japan pulls the spectators attention and applause during her 20 minutes first heat.

During the competition, the spectators are also being entertained with Fun Games with awesome prizes from Surfer Girl, Hula Hop contest, dance contest, and many more!

Five contestants for Open Women's Body Board compete for 20 minutes on 2 heats before the final. The current is getting wilder as they spin for their best to win the most score.

While four semi finalists compete to win the Fun Surf Contest, Leta and Salini from Indonesia, Carolyn from South Africa and Jenny from Colorado.

The most awaited division, Daddy (or Mommy) & Daughter tandem begins at around 3pm with 4 contestants, 3 from Indonesia and 1 from Australia. Unfortunately no Mommy is joining the competition. They are having some troubles at their first stands, but after getting their rhythm, Gerson from Indonesia managed to lift Leta to his shoulder!

The day heats up when the final is taking place for the Open Women’s Pro and Open Women’s Body Board. The spectators are amazed with the awesome performance from the skillful girl surfers. They definitely show that girls too can surf! =)

Whilst the judges collecting the scores to decide the winners, Surfer Girl crew throw up some more games to give away more prizes and more laughter to the air.

This two day event is definitely not one to miss out on and Surfer Girl once again rocks this year with the most fun all girls surf competition in the world!
