Surfer Girl Makes a "Big Splash" at Kuta Beach

5 October 2008, Kuta Beach-Bali:  "The best all girls surf shop in the world" set out to produce " the most fun all girls competition in the world" on Sunday they did just that.  Using the Coca-Cola ISC Women's Division competition as the basis for the event, the exuberant crew at Surfer Girl created darn near 24 hours of activity around it, turning out a very big "first time ever all girls surfing event" at the most popular and world renown beach this side of the planet….on Kuta Beach

Starting with the press conference at the Hard Rock Café on Saturday night, then hosting a whole lot of action down at Halfways on Kuta Beach.  In addition to the "My First Ever" surf contest, the bodyboard contest, the Coca-Cola ISC Tour Women's contest, and a Dad-Daughter tandem contest, there were tons of other interesting activities going on all along the beach including ice-skating, horizontal bungee, water cannons, dance competitions, a nail & beauty booth, beach volleyball, beach soccer, and more.

And when the sunset a different kind of fun began, with Surfer Girl fashion shows, a lot of dancing from various groups, a kid's charity band, and then the awards presentation.  And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, one of Indonesia's hottest bands, Nidji rocked the beach to the delight of the crowd who went nuts for them!

Truly the best day at the beach ever, not just for the girls mind you, but for all the guys as well!

Thanks to all the sponsors that made this great day possible, especially Surfer Girl, Hard Rock Café Bali, Blue Groove, Friendster, Bandhal Rent, supported by Skate Run, AJ Hackett, BNI, Bali Garden Beach Resort, Coca-Cola Bottling Indonesia, Waterbom, Garuda Indonesia, Goodway Resort, GUS, EcoBali Recycling, with media partners Surf-Time, SurfWest, Magic Wave, Gogirl, Sister, Girlfriend, Seventeen, Gadis, Sportz Magazine, Hard Rock Radio, OZ 101.2 FM Bali, and CDBS FM.

Hi Kirsty and Alicia,

I will upload a seies of low res photo's over the next few days onto the site and we will try and send you a copy of the contest dvd as soon as the dvd is out!
Stay tuned and I will get back to you asap as to how much the Surfer-Girl surfboards cost, and what would be the cost of shipment. If you would like to order a custom surfer-girl surfboard let me know too and we can get it organized (see "ask Becky" section of this website)
