Lets! Clean Up the World
This Saturday, September 19, 2009, Australian Consulate-General, together with G.U.S. Foundation, Stiff Chili Restaurant, Surfer Girl, Blue Groove, Kangguru, and others, held an event called Clean Up the World at Semawang beach, Sanur. The participants were Australian citizens, Junior High School students, Senior High School students, and many more.
The event began at 9am with a presentation and briefing from G.U.S. Foundation on waste especially those at the sea and at the beach. This clean up event then followed with separating between organic and non-organic waste. After a short break of lunch, the event was pepped up with basket competition of “3 On 3” among schools by Stiff Chili Restaurant.
All contestants for the basket competition were so thrilled to win awesome prizes from Surfer Girl and Blue Groove. The event was ended with prize presentation to the lucky winner by the Head of Australian Consulate-General, Stiff Chili Restaurant owner, and Surfer Girl.
This kind of event is very beneficial and it reminds us to always care for our surrounding :-)
